What are the types
of
Multiple
Intelligence?

1. Visual/Spatial Intelligence
Ability to perceive the visual. These learners tend to think in pictures and need to create vivid mental images to retain information. They enjoy looking at maps, charts, pictures, videos, and movies.

Their skills include:
Puzzle building, reading, writing, understanding charts and graphs, a good sense of direction, sketching, painting, creating visual metaphors and analogies (perhaps through the visual arts), manipulating images, constructing, fixing, designing practical objects, interpreting visual images.

Possible career interests:
Navigators, sculptors, visual artists, inventors, architects, interior designers, mechanics, engineers

2. Verbal/Linguistic Intelligence
Ability to use words and language. These learners have highly developed auditory skills and are generally elegant speakers. They think in words rather than pictures.

Their skills include:
Listening, speaking, writing, story telling, explaining, teaching, using humor, understanding the syntax and meaning of words, remembering information, convincing someone of their point of view, analyzing language usage.

Possible career interests:
Poet, journalist, writer, teacher, lawyer, politician, translator

3. Logical/Mathematical Intelligence
Ability to use reason, logic and numbers. These learners think conceptually in logical and numerical patterns making connections between pieces of information. Always curious about the world around them, these learner ask lots of questions and like to do experiments.

Their skills include:
Problem solving, classifying and categorizing information, working with abstract concepts to figure out the relationship of each to the other, handling long chains of reason to make local progressions, doing controlled experiments, questioning and wondering about natural events, performing complex mathematical calculations, working with geometric shapes

Possible career paths:
Scientists, engineers, computer programmers, researchers, accountants, mathematicians.

4. Bodily/Kinesthetic Intelligence
Ability to control body movements and handle objects skillfully. These learners express themselves through movement. They have a good sense of balance and eye-hand co-ordination. (e.g. ball play, balancing beams). Through interacting with the space around them, they are able to remember and process information.

Their skills include:
Dancing, physical co-ordination, sports, hands on experimentation, using body language, crafts, acting, miming, using their hands to create or build, expressing emotions through the body.

Possible career paths:
Athletes, physical education teachers, dancers, actors, firefighters, artisans.

5. Musical/Rhythmic Intelligence
Ability to produce and appreciate music. These musically inclined learners think in sounds, rhythms and patterns. They immediately respond to music either appreciating or criticizing what they hear. Many of these learners are extremely sensitive to environmental sounds (e.g. crickets, bells, dripping taps).

Their skills include:
Singing, whistling, playing musical instruments, recognizing tonal patterns, composing music, remembering melodies, understanding the structure and rhythm of music.

Possible career paths:
Musician, disc jockey, singer, composer.

6. Interpersonal Intelligence
Ability to relate and understand others. These learners try to see things from other people's point of view in order to understand how they think and feel. They often have an uncanny ability to sense feelings, intentions and motivations. They are great organizers, although they sometimes resort to manipulation. Generally they try to maintain peace in group settings and encourage co-operation.They use both verbal (e.g. speaking) and non-verbal language (e.g. eye contact, body language) to open communication channels with others.

Their skills include:
Seeing things from other perspectives (dual-perspective), listening, using empathy, understanding other people's moods and feelings, counseling, co-operating with groups, noticing people's moods, motivations and intentions, communicating both verbally and non-verbally, building trust, peaceful conflict resolution, establishing positive relations with other people.

Possible Career Paths:
Counselor, salesperson, politician, business person

7. Intrapersonal Intelligence
Ability to self-reflect and be aware of one's inner state of being. These learners try to understand their inner feelings, dreams, relationships with others, and strengths and weaknesses.

Their Skills include:
Recognizing their own strengths and weaknesses, reflecting and analyzing themselves, awareness of their inner feelings, desires and dreams, evaluating their thinking patterns, reasoning with themselves, understanding their role in relationship to others.

Possible Career Paths:
Researchers, theorists, philosophers

8. Naturalist Intelligence:
Ability to recognize and categorize plants, animals and other objects in nature

9. Existential Intelligence:
Sensitivity and capacity to tackle deep questions about human existence, such as the meaning of life, why do we die, and how did we get here.

Hello teacher I´m Juan David Carvajal from conversation 2 of Tuesday´s class.
My comment about the reading is simply: is an assosiation or a comparation to what kind of Intelligence I have.
Personally and taking into account the concepts of the reading, probably the intelligence that I folow is VISUAL/SPATIAL INTELLIGENCE because I could identify many behaviors that I usually have when I´m learning, when explainig, or just when I´m doing something.
Some of those behaviors are: making graphs, I consider that I have a good sense of direction, making sketch, painting, something that I enyoy a lot is creating visual metaphors and analogies, and finally drawing.
I´d like to say that I agree with some of possible careers interests because at my highschool were tecnique and there I did 6 courses of mechanic and I liked it.
Another personal experience is that I had the opportunity of design myself my room´s interior and all the people that could get in into my room allwas say the same: !wow is wonder¡, !wow is so cute¡, and somethings like that.
although the other intelligences have some behaviorisms that I have, I think tha the most be my intelligence is thi one.
ok to conclude I´d like to say that the reading were so interesting to me and I enyoied reading this document, and doing this comment.

Hi teacher first of all i want to say that it's very interesting to know what kind of intelligences we have and how we learn in a different way,in my opinion i believe that i have the visual/spatial intelligence for example: i learn in the way that i memorize the pictures or words that i see from books or the notebook and remember how it looked at the moment of a partial or a presentation, the images are easily for me to catch at the moment of learning and i consider that i have the verbal/linguistic intelligence, i consider that we should know how important the different intelligences are for us as being students and teachers in the near future, because in this way we can improve our skills and as a teachers to be we can know the different learning skills that the learners will have and how we can control the class and make different activities to them to learn easily, another point that i'd like to make is that is essential to know the different intelligences that we have, so in this way we know what kind of job we would like.

Hello deaR TEacher i think that your text is quiet interesting moreover because we're seeing it in other subjects different from yours so i think it helps us in many ways to find out which our intelligences are and which we dont have so developed. so that's why i give you a great grade for this blog..i'd like to keep knowing more about new posts...by now i just say see you on tuesday. att: JhOnnY AlBErto LEmoS gARciA

It is quite important to keep in mind always, that we have different kind of intelligences, but I think we all have more than one. For us teachers to be it is essential to know this in order to help students to develop the four skills and create rapport between them. Teachers must try to develop their interpersonal intelligence because we have to understand our students and because we would have to face with many different problems in a real classroom environment very soon.
So dear colleagues I am sure this is something that would help us a lot in our near future and make us better human beings.

hello teacher!!!!!! How have you been? I have been studying about these multiple intelligences, and I think that is very usefull to us because we can create new strategies in learning, in order to the develop of our intelligences that each one use to learn.
in my opinion I think that I use these intelligences: *visual/spatial intelligence: I often use that because is easier for me to memorize the images or the things that I see.
*musical/rhythmic intelligence:when I am listening to music I often catch a lot of words, and I can remember melodies.
is very important to know the different intelligences because we are learning to be teachers and we need that to me moment that we are going to teach. bye

hello Clara
since a lot time ago, i have been wating for this topic, cause i consider nessesity, recognize ourself abilities, as we know we are in a language learning proccess,of this way i had recognized myself abilities like naturalistic,intelligence,visual/spacial,ability,verbal /linguistic, interpersonal, i consider that i always be awake for this reason it is easy to learn bye, bye
thanks a lot for your teaching

hi teacher
i have to tell you that the information that you gave us about multiple inteligences is great because we as teachers to be need this to recognize the best way to teach our futures students in the best way to do not create troubles betwen then and us julieth orozco

hi teacher it´s so interesting that you have in your blog that kind of information, because we as a teachers to be, we need to improve that kind of intelligences that we need to share in the future with our students,i realized that we need all of the intelliengences because each one are focused in some of the intelligences; some people are more developed in ones than other but we have the all intelligences so we neeed to work on each one of the intelliegences it´s a good resource to learn..thank you for share things that are interesting for us bye.

The document about intelligences is interesting because the people are different in your learn form,
hence the teacher have that change your methology for different techniques that teach the same theme and all students understand
